Booktailor was the first publisher to offer customised travel guides via the Internet. On the Booktailor website, customers could select their destination, then chose the content of their personal guide from a wide reaching database of information. From their selection, the company produced a ringbound book.

Circle Press

Circle Press was founded by Ron King in 1967. For over thirty years, the Press has had an influence on other artists working with books. The name Circle Press was chosen to suggest a group of like-minded people working within a shared, supportive framework, a circle which over the period of time has enlarged to include over 100 artists and poets.

The press which was originally based in Guildford, moved to London in 1988 and has always been managed by the artists themselves from production to sales and distribution. Its work is represented in most major library, graphic art and fine art museum collections across the world.

Established in 1986, Companhia das Letras has published nearly 3,000 titles written by 1,300 authors and is considered one of the largest and most important publishing houses in Brazil.

Literature and human sciences have long been Companhia das Letras' two major editorial lines. In addition, the company publishes titles for children and young people, paperbacks, comics, paradidactic books and has a co-publishing agreement with Penguin Books for Portuguese edition of the Penguin Classics.

Penguin Books is a British publisher founded in 1935 by Allen Lane. Lane's idea was to provide quality writing cheaply, for the same price as a pack of cigarettes. He also wanted them to be sold not only in bookshops but in train stations, general stores and corner shops. Its most emblematic products are its paperbacks. The first Penguin paperbacks were published in 1935, but at first only as an imprint of Bodley Head with the books originally distributed from a church crypt.

Thames & Hudson was founded in 1949 by Walter and Eva Neurath. Their passion and mission for Thames & Hudson was that its books should reveal the world of art to the general public, to create a 'museum without walls' for a broad, non-specialist reading public.

To capture the essence of this international concept, the name for the company linked the rivers flowing through London and New York (although Walter later admitted he could have chosen at least six other rivers for the name!).
