Bernhard Edmaier has been photographing the surface of the earth for more than 20 years. On his travels to untouched corners of the globe, he is accompanied by fellow geologist and science writer Angelika Jung-Hüttl. Together, they have created ‘Water’ – a book featuring breathtaking images of the world's streams, lakes, seas and oceans.
The book design treats these treasures like pieces of art, with large scale photographs and carefully curated juxtapositions. The alternating grey and white backgrounds subtly enhance the colourful imagery and lend the book an air of sophistication that would grace any contemporary art catalogue.
