Fedrigoni at Frankfurt Book Fair 2016
Description
Fedrigoni at Frankfurt Book Fair 2016
Surrounded by a plethora of book publishers’ exhibition stands at the Frankfurt book fair, Italian paper manufacturers Fedrigoni have taken a very different stance for the presentation of Project 16/3 – a book offering eight designers the unique opportunity to push the boundaries of book design and printing.
Instead of simply showing the finished article, running sheets of each 16-page section of the book are presented on Litfaßsäulen – columns invented by the Berlin printer Ernst Litfaß in 1854, that are normally used outdoors for advertising and can be found all over Germany. The resulting ‘forest of pillars’ is more akin to an art installation and is pushing the boundaries as much as the designers have done with Project 16/3.
