German artist Hans Kotter is best known for the virtuosity of his light installations. Kotter's studies of light refraction and colour composition have resulted in "art that impresses the eye" according to art historian Professor Kai-Uwe Heimken.
The catalogue for The artist's latest exhibition eschews the usual photograph of one of the artworks on the front cover. Instead, the design takes its inspiration from Kotter's 'Colour Codes' – a series of chrome boxes with a colourful back-illuminated stripe pattern.
Highly reflective mirror board and extravagant four colour printing on the catalogue spine combine to create a striking and evocative object in its own right.
